Brewster & Company, known for crafting exquisite carriages, dissolved in 1923. Its final owner, William Brewster (1866–1949), generously donated the company's collection of design and presentation drawings to the Met Museum, where he was also a benefactor and trustee. Among American carriage manufacturers, Brewster & Company stood out for its exceptional design, finish, and quality.
